After injuries sustained against the Southern Kings XV in Port Elizabeth, both Euan Murray and James Hook will miss the first test on Saturday. At this stage, neither has been ruled out of the tour and both are described as 'ongoing assessments'.

Euan Murray was forced from the field with what has transpired to be a sprained ankle while James Hook suffered a blow to the head. Murray has had his foot put in a cast, but x-rays have revealed that there is no fracture.

Commenting on the Scot, Geech said, "The good news is that Euan has had an X-ray and there is no break. It is just a sprain. James took a knock to the head and we took him off as a precaution. He will be reviewed by our medical team on Wednesday.”
