Lions Fantasy Rugby

home_competition

TestRugby.com are running a great Lions Fantasy rugby game. It's simple, but with quite deep gameplay. Buy 12 players with your $12,000,000 budget and substitute players between games. Points are awarded for all manner of things including the obvious - tries, penalties - and the more obscure - forcing a turnover and making a tackle. It looks like a lot of fun.

You can setup your own mini divisions, for friends and family to join, and I've set one up for Pride of Lions readers. I recommend checking it out. You've got until game time to submit your team I believe. If you want to join our division, it's called
Pride of Lions UK and my teamname is prideoflions.

Lions Links

links
The buzz surrounding the 2009 tour has reached something of a fever pitch in anticipation of tomorrow's game and I thought it was worth pointing you to some of the other good stuff out there for the keen Lions fan.

My thanks to reader 'Ant' for pointing me to the Tommy Bowe blog. In no particular order and without further ado, some really interesting links for those with a penchant for all things Lions:

Tommy Bowe's Blog - A great behind the scenes look from a player on the inside. Very much a blog/diary feel, and a world away from some of the more sanitised blogs on the larger news websites.

Mike Phillips Column - The welshman's column is another gracing the pages of a 'smaller' news site, which is very much a good thing.

Rob Kearney's Blog - If you want 'from the horses' mouth, this looks brilliant. It looks to be a marketing tie-in to some extent, but worth a look all the same.

Fantasy Lions - I haven't signed up for this myself yet, but I'm told that it's far superior to the rather rubbish fantasy league Sky have setup. I'm going to try and signup this evening and will setup a Pride Of Lions mini-league for anyone that is interested. Check back later for details!

Martyn Williams is also writing a
blog over on the BBC Sport site, but this will have been seen by most already I'd imagine. We'll be adding more links as we come across them.
